Job Description

Our client is looking for an Administrator to work 4 days on-site.

In collaboration with the Director of the Centre and other stakeholders, the Administrator: plans, coordinates, and facilitates the research and training activities of the Centre for Safeguarding Minors and Vulnerable Persons, including community engagement and project identification; participates in the development of program plans and deliverables in order to meet program objectives; oversees the good functioning of the Centre while promoting service excellence; provides support to event planning and general administration for the Centre; coordinates e-learning units, courses, seminars, workshops, webinars, and conferences both on and off campus; and coordinates marketing, operations, and logistics.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and collaborates in the production of Centre programing (including e-learning units)
  • Provides administrative oversight with the development of new programs in Safeguarding (academic and continuing education)
  • In collaboration with the Director, proposes the annual course offer in Safeguarding
  • Liaises with the faculty’s administrative assistant and program coordinator
  • Maintains the research database, video database, and resource library
  • Assists in the preparation and execution of conferences, seminars, workshops, webinars
  • Provides and arrange customized in-services in diverse locations (through on-site visits, Internet)
  • Assesses needs and markets for additional services and formation programs
  • Follows up to inquiries related to safeguarding
  • Maintains social media outlets including the Facebook page, Twitter, and website
  • Maintains accurate records; prepares and submits reports
  • Continues personal formation in all aspects of safeguarding
  • Coordinates the Centre’s volunteers, interns, and work-study students

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in humanities, theology, or (canon) law
  • Experience in program or project management
  • Commitment to safeguarding minors and vulnerable persons from the threat and trauma of sexual abuse
  • Knowledge of structures of the Catholic Church
  • Experience in working in a postsecondary institution or other complex organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and verbal) in English and French
Must have:

  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-starting qualities
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and utilize resources
  • Skilled in the use of web content management applications (Distancia)
  • Must be able to exercise good judgement and professional discretion
