Job Description

Our reputable client, a security software company in Ottawa - provides industry-leading products in mission-critical areas for Police, Fire, and EMS agencies across North America and the Caribbean, is looking for a System Administrator to join them on a permanent full-time basis.

As a key member of the team, you must be a highly motivated and experienced individual with proven technical, analytical, and business skills. You are the prime contact for major projects related to new hardware and software implementations focused on integrating business units and multisite environments.

Office Location: Ottawa
Base salary: $60,000 - 75,000 per year

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Cisco Networking
  • Palo Alto next-generation firewalls
  • Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and PowerShell
  • Microsoft Server, Active Directory, Multi-Factor Authentication, DNS, and DHCP Services
  • VMware vSphere, vSphere Replication, VMware Fusion/Workstation, and RedHat Linux
  • Intel servers and fiber channel storage equipment
  • Ability to quickly analyze and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
  • Above average communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
  • Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE certifications, or similar training
  • Take pride in your work and have a passion for efficiently delivering high-quality work
  • Answer a wide variety of questions from across the corporation
  • You are expected to plan your work and work your plan while following change management policies and documenting new configurations
  • Occasionally you will provide 3rd tier technical support for infrastructure-related issues and questions directly with our police customers and their IT staff

  • Derive time estimates and be comfortable with your ability to deliver quality within your estimates

  • Interact with peers to develop the best way of proceeding
Must have:

  • University degree or College diploma in computer networking
  • Computer administration or computer science, combined with 5+ years of LAN networking
  • Active Directory, Multi-factor authentication, and Office365 experience
