Job Description

Our client in the Insurance industry is looking for a Bilingual (French / English) HR Manager to join their team in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have at least 6+ years' experience in human resources and be a motivated self-starter.

This is a fulltime/permanent opportunity with a great compensation package. It is a hybrid role with 3 days on site, Monday to Friday.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide HR related advice and coaching to assigned client groups and business leaders (VP to Manager level) on HR policies and practices, employee relations, workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, compensation decisions, employee engagement, etc.
  • Identify issues related themes across client groups and provide recommendations for action to mitigate risks and act on opportunities
  • Participate on team projects, develop or deliver small scale HR projects
  • Oversee requisition (e.g. new hire), onboarding (e.g. onboarding and change forms) and offboarding (extended absences, termination requisitions) activities for assigned practice area(s) with HR Administration and elevates more complex matters for support and or resolution as required
  • Assists with other HR administrative matters such as HR metrics and systems updates
  • Supports Manager, Human Resources through active participation in ad hoc meetings, training and other project assignments


Qualifications and Experience
  • Must have at least 6-9 years' experience in human resources
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with multiple stakeholder
  • Ability to network across functional teams and build strong client relationships
  • Excellent problem solving, influencing, multi-tasking, organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to present analyses in an understandable format
  • Fluent in both English and French, written and verbal
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have:

  • Post-secondary education in HR Management, Business Administration or related field
  • HR Certificate is an asset
  • Previous experience in Insurance or Financial services

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: University Degree or College Diploma
