Job Description

Our client in the Transportation/Logistics industry is looking for a Team Lead to support the Operations Manager with operations and inventory management on the afternoon shift. If you are a strong leader with people management experience within the warehouse, this is the position for you!

Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 11pm
Permanent- Direct Hire
Base Salary + Bonus + Benefits + Eligibility for Pension
100% on site

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maximize productivity by effectively allocating available resources to successfully process the daily work volume
  • Maximize productivity to successfully process daily shift work volume
  • Effectively communicate all pertinent information regarding process changes, goals & objectives and operational results to employees through daily shift meetings
  • Use SAP, Kronos and internal systems to manage operations and inventory as required
  • Hands-on direction of all activities to ensure customer and corporate requirements are met
  • Ensure 100% adherence to QMS Account specific standard operating procedures
  • Must be proficient in the operation and related systems
  • Ensure Health and Safety practices are adhered to (e.g. coach team members on safe work practices, enforce company policies and procedures, and serve as a positive role model with respect to safe work practices)
  • Provide daily updates on receiving, shipping, issues and projects
  • Participation in decision-making processes involving dock and warehouse issues
  • Flexible working hours and scheduling is a requirement

  • Communicate job expectations to employees and report to Operations Manager
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager, Operations

Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience or similar
  • Demonstrated leadership and training skills to develop team members
  • Previous experience using SAP and warehouse management systems is a strong asset
  • Strong service quality experience with specific measures and accomplishments
  • Proven experience in developing positive employee relations with an emphasis on creating a collaborate team environment
  • Ability to analyze, plan and manage resources effectively
  • Good proficiency using Microsoft office applications
  • Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Post-secondary education and/or a combination of relevant experience and education
