Job Description

Our client, a financial services institution with an enviable culture, is seeking a Director of Regulatory Compliance to join their Alberta-based team.

In this role, you will provide compliance oversight across all business units, identify and manage risks, ensure alignment with OSFI guidelines, and interpret legal requirements.

PERKS: 15% STI bonus, 20 days paid vacation, 4 flex days, flex benefits plan, and a pension plan.

LOCATION: This position may be located in either Calgary or Edmonton. There will be a combination of on-site and remote work.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Interpret and analyze legal and regulatory requirements
  • Develop governance and reporting for senior management, the board and regulators
  • Develop policies, procedures, framework, and controls for enterprise regulatory compliance
  • Assess compliance risks and identify areas of non-compliance
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Assurance team on the testing of regulatory controls
  • Guide business units projects and compliance advisory
  • Act as a strategic partner and Subject Matter Expert for regulatory compliance


Qualifications and Experience
  • 7+ years' experience in regulatory compliance within the financial services industry
  • Extensive exposure to legal operations and/or interpreting legal requirements
  • Strong team leadership skills
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead transformation/change
Nice to have:

  • Risk management certifications (CCSA, PRM, CIA, etc.)
  • University degree in business, accounting, economics, or finance
