Job Description

Our client, a leader in the Healthcare industry, is currently seeking a Coordinator, Revenue & Receivables to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. This individual plays a critical role as a trusted collaborator and champion responsible for supporting and coordinating Revenue cycle improvement initiatives through the realization of efficient workflows with the goal to optimize patient revenue, timely submission of claims, reduce outstanding Accounts Receivable, improve cash collections, and minimize bad debt. The Coordinator, Revenue & Receivables is responsible for managing and tracking issues arising within the context of the organizations Billing and Account Receivables systems and acts as the point of contact for stakeholders involved in issue resolution.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between the Finance, IT, and clinical operation teams to prioritize conflicting priorities, provide status updates, identify, and mitigate risks and facilitate timely resolution process.
  • Develop, update, and implement a comprehensive, standardized, best-practice full-cycle billing training program for onboarding new hires and upskilling current team members
  • Ensure the proper application of all legislative requirements for Federal, Provincial Acts and private insurance companies
  • Month End/Year End close and monthly financial reporting and analysis
  • Design and application of internal controls over billing, collection and cash application processes
  • Day to day direction, coaching and guidance to direct reports
  • Collaborate across the team to identify, document, prioritize and implement process and system improvement initiatives, establishing KPIs and internal controls
  • Lead and/or support cross-functional systems and process improvement initiatives acting as liaison between Finance, IT and clinical operations teams to address conflicting priorities, provide status updates, identify, and mitigate risks and facilitate timely resolution processes
  • Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support to sub-team of AR staff


Qualifications and Experience
  • 4 year undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or any related discipline
  • Professional Accounting Designation or an equivalent work experience in a health care environment is preferred
  • Three years of experience in a complex ERP environment
  • Previous experience training, coaching and developing others
  • Experience with process mapping, developing SOP and other training aids. Internal/external audit experience will be considered equivalent.
  • One year of experience supervising or coaching/developing others in a large or complex environment
  • Sound understanding of complex ERP and billing system workflows, issue root cause analysis and process improvement
  • Demonstrated analytical problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated effective presentation skills including the ability to present and discuss complex information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and achieves alignment
  • Proficiency in speaking and comprehending French
  • Experience working iwth public sector organizations; healthcare experience will be considered an asset

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: University Degree
