Job Description

Altis Professional Services is actively seeking a Permanent Talent Acquisition Manager for our large Public sector client located in Vancouver and Victoria. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager with in-depth background in unionized recruitment, staff management, succession planning.

This position will be requiring to attend training on site for the first 2 months and will offer hybrid set up, where you will work 3 days from home and 2 days from the office.

This position is also available to offer work from Victoria, BC.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Establish goals and objectives for the Recruitment team, determines case load and assigns positions to team members
  • Lead and mentor team of 3 Talent Acquisition Professionals
  • Continuously identify and implement innovative talent solutions to deliver excellence in time to fill, quality of hire and outstanding results
  • Complete regular employee performance appraisals and support the development of learning plans for TA team
  • Ensure a high-quality candidate experience and take care of the follow-ups with hiring managers
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex problems or concerns for the team; partner with the broader HR team to support issue investigation, complaint resolution, policy and process improvement and support union relations
  • Manage the full cycle recruitment of a portfolio of senior positions
  • Evaluate policies and processes to identify opportunities for ongoing quality and process improvements
  • Ensure data integrity by efficiently responding to requests for corporate metrics, external reporting, survey responses, audit inquiries/responses, etc
  • Oversee the use of social media, job boards, Internet sourcing, and other technical means to source candidates with a 3rd party agency
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive recruitment and talent acquisition experience is required
  • A university degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent staff management/leadership experience
  • Proven experience supporting senior level hiring managers
  • Fully cycle recruitment experience for both senior level positions and large scale recruitment initiatives
  • Must have experience in a large, complex, unionized environment
  • Previous industry experience in Healthcare, Education, or Government is desirable
  • High level of accountability, excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, professionalism, diplomatic and confidence are required for this position
  • High ethical standards, promotes inclusiveness and recognizes and respects the value of diversity within our community and our workforce

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: Bachelor's Degree
