Job Description

Our client, a leader in medical equipment manufacturing, is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment Manager to provide provide proactive, efficient and professional HSE leadership, support and guidance to the organization's operational and functional teams.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity and will involve the implementation of various H&S systems/programs across three (3) locations. This position will be supported by a Health and Safety consultant for the following six (6) months before becoming solely responsible for HSE within the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage the effective implementation of HSE standards and management systems, including policies, procedures, safe working instructions, guidance, and information
  • Support effective HSE team communication and other engagement initiatives to improve employee awareness, competency and safety performance
  • Guide, coach and support managers and employees at all levels to ensure they are aware of their HSE responsibilities
  • Conduct and manage local safety checks, observations and audits, ensuring that non-compliances are promptly reported and corrective actions raised, tracked and completed
  • Ensure that all incidents, accidents, near misses, unsafe acts and conditions are appropriately reported and managed
  • Respond to incidents and accidents, carrying out appropriate investigations in accordance with the global HSE framework and ensuring appropriate actions are identified to prevent recurrences
  • Manage the collection and analysis of business unit safety performance data and HSE metrics, identifying and reporting areas of concern and appropriate action

Qualifications and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar HSE position
  • Hands-on experience implementing, managing and maintaining HSE programs
Must have:

  • Bachelor's degree or experience in lieu of education
Nice to have:

  • Experience within an Industrial/Manufacturing environment
