Job Description

Our client working in the Engineering industry is looking for a Human Resources Manager to join their team in a full time permanent role! The Human Resources Manager will be based in our Etobicoke, Ontario office, and will report directly to the President and the Operations Director. As the sole HR practitioner, you will be responsible for all aspects for the HR function with a focus on building the function for HEI. HEI has a Hybrid Work Policy.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the overall development and execution of the HR strategy to drive culture, people and HR initiatives in line with business objectives.
  • Launch a comprehensive end to end talent acquisition program to attract highly qualified. personnel including sourcing, pre-screening, interviewing, verifying references, preparing offers and conducting onboarding while working with managers throughout the process.
  • Provides guidance, direction and advice on employment related issues across all HR disciplines including corporate policies, HR programs and processes.
  • Implement succession planning and talent management plans that support business goals.
  • Drive the people processes (performance, development, and career) to ensure that employees’ level of performance and capabilities meet current and future requirements.
  • Develops, implements and maintains the compensation program ensuring internal and external equity and market competitiveness.
  • Promote a culture of clear and open communication.
  • Identify and analyze trends (e.g. around turnover, hiring, retention, and productivity), and works with management to develop and execute on action plans.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP or CHRL) designation
  • Progressive HR experience working in a complex and technical environment preferably with 5-7 years of management exposure
  • Solid technical human resources experience in a variety of functional areas (employee relations, talent acquisition, policies and procedures development, compliance, compensation, benefits, succession planning, coaching etc.)
  • In depth knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles, as well as all applicable legislation, including but not limited to, Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
Must have:

  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP or CHRL) designation
  • Progressive HR experience working in a complex and technical environment preferably with 5-7 years of management exposure
Nice to have:

  • Experience working within the Mining or Engineering sectors is an asset.
  • Post-Secondary Degree or Certificate from an accredited University/College or equivalent
