Job Description

One of our top clients in the GTA is seeking a Senior Acquisition Analyst to join their team on a full time and permanent basis. Our client has a positive and collaborative culture, and provides room for growth and advancement. The ideal candidate will have superior financial modeling skills and have condensed large amounts of data into relevant and meaningful management information. We are seeking candidates who also who have superb communication and organization skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage the execution of the forecasting process through the maintenance of monthly forecast models and ensuring financial models reflect market realities as well information from each functional group
  • Prepare financial analysis including proforma financial modeling of scenarios to aid management in evaluating various real estate decisions
  • Review, track and provide updates on overall project budgets with each functional group
  • Prepare various reporting required as part of the terms of our joint-venture agreements with partners and internal reporting requirements
  • Review, track and analyze market transactions to assist in annual valuation of real estate inventory
  • Review and summarize legal documents and monitor project activities from governance perspective
  • Drive process improvements and maximize efficiency
  • Have a pulse on where the project is going in order to be able to forecast, and explain the financial results and provide operational insights and recommendations
  • Investment analysis support for new acquisitions opportunities
  • Project cost control and procurement
  • Preparation of internal presentations
  • Creation and maintenance of Resources Library

Qualifications and Experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS and ASPE
  • Ability to deliver on commitments and manage multiple deliverables
Must have:

  • A post-secondary education with a focus on Finance/Real estate is required
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with previous experience working within the real estate development industry
Nice to have:

  • CFA, MBA, AACI, CPA, CA or other professional designations are considered an asset

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: College Diploma
