Job Description

Our client in the Non Profit sector is seeking a Development Coordinator to join their Hunt Club team in Ottawa. We are looking for a candidate with Fundraising/Donor Relations experience. This role is on a 6 month contract with the potential to extend from Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare written receipts and acknowledgements
  • Provide assistance to donors as required
  • Maintain and analyze data
  • Assist in the development of legacy giving plans and policies
  • Research fundraising opportunities
  • Prepare written acknowledgments for bequests
  • Support donor recognition and stewardship plans and activities
  • Develop written and other materials to support the legacy giving programs
  • Develop queries, metrics and tracking to measure program effectiveness
  • Coordinate development resources
  • Oversee and coordinate volunteers and contractors
  • Maintain excellent relationships with vendors
  • Prepare and deliver written and verbal presentations
  • Be aware of and make use of community resources
  • Be thoroughly familiar with and ensure adherence to pertinent legislation, regulations guidelines, policies, procedures and plans
  • Participate in supervision, evaluation and training sessions
  • Prepare accurate expense accounts and other forms
  • Produce written reports and records
  • Network with other service providers and professionals
  • Attend staff meetings and other meetings as required
  • rovide training, orientation and supervision for student, volunteer, and work placements as required
  • Be familiar and ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in public relations and promotional activities
  • Contribute to ongoing evaluation of program objectives
  • Maintain a knowledge of social, environmental issues


Qualifications and Experience
  • Education and Experience:
  • Grade 12 graduation diploma
  • A diploma or certificate and/or experience in fundraising is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Work, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with databases and electronic records
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service, crisis management and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated excellent teamwork skills
