Our public sector client has an upcoming need for an experienced Conflict of Interest Specialist to assist them with processes and audits related to conflict of interest internally. Key responsibility is to assist in minimizing the risks associated with conflict of interest and conflict of duties situations to enable persons employed to uphold the values and ethics of the public sector and the public interest.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Put in place the infrastructure and controls to effectively administer the conflict of interest directive and to report to the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat upon request;
- Perform audits and provide advice to senior management based on results;
- Develop an internal report based on findings;
- Maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships;
- Provide consistent information, advice and assistance to persons employed about preventing and resolving conflict of interest situations arising from their assets, liabilities, interests, outside employment and activities, and intended post‑employment activities;
- Help determine where the organization is most exposed to risk, and advise on remedial actions.
- Ensure that all records relating to conflict of interest and conflict of duties situations are maintained in accordance with the Privacy Act.
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Secret security clearance;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience performing internal audits including Values and Ethics;
- Must have experience with auditing conflict of interest within senior management.
Education and Certifications
Minimum education required: University Degree or College Diploma
