Intermediate Accountant

Job Description

Our client in the healthcare sector is seeking an intermediate accountant for a 3 month contract (project based), with the possibility of extension. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable healthcare institution.
The Intermediate Accountant role is to perform a wide range of accounting activities requiring competent
knowledge of accounting concepts, principles and practices. The position requires independent work under
broad direction and within established accounting systems. The intermediate accountant works as part of a
team ensuring quality, accuracy and timeliness of financial information provided to various stakeholders
both internal and external.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform month-end closing procedures including preparation of manual journal entries, working papers and reconciliations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Prepare and update the monthly financial reporting package for presentation to management.
• Review and analyze complex transactions and advise on accounting treatment.
• Maintain strong relationships with external and internal corporate stakeholders and provide support as necessary with interpreting financial results.
• Support management in monthly review of assigned portfolio P&L.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
Must have:

• Knowledge of Accounting principles (ASPE and IFRS)
• Technical Skills in Excel, Access, SAP, QuickBooks
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: High School Diploma
