Job Description

Our top client in the real estate industry is currently seeking for Site Superintendents to join their growing team in the Ottawa region on a full time, permanent basis! This candidate will bring along a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant construction work experience. You will be responsible for managing the full construction process of assigned homes from excavation through to completion. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Schedule and attend all customer site visits
  • Ensure all interactions with homeowners are professional and customer focused to maintain a positive relationship with the homeowner through the entire construction process
  • Accountable for managing the full construction process of assigned homes from start through to Homeowner possession
  • Accountable for delivering within the construction budget for their unit/lots
  • Ensure all construction documents required to build units are available, complete and understood
  • Maintain and update construction schedule and collaborate with team to ensure timely construction completions per the business requirements
  • Monitor all daily trade functions including, timeliness, quality of workmanship and completion of work to ensure their work complies with Ontario Building Code
  • Ensure timely confirmation of completion of trade work to release payment
  • Order construction material from suppliers i.e. steel, wood, windows, trusses, etc.
  • Respond to requests from all sub trades on materials, installations and concerns
  • Schedule and attend all necessary municipal inspections. Assist Inspectors with the completion of the review, and rectify issues as required
  • Responsible for setting objectives and performance evaluations for their team
  • Responsible for mentoring and developing direct reports and new employees including performance management and development planning
  • Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management

Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant construction work experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Ontario Building Codes, Energy Star guidelines and Health & Safety Regulations
Nice to have:

  • Computer experience with MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent leadership and skills including the ability to mentor and develop others

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: Bachelor's Degree
