Our client, an established telecommunications technology company, is currently seeking a Vice President of Finance & Administration to join their Gatineau-based team.
In this role, you will lead a team of 6 direct reports, oversee all accounting operations, manage tax planning, direct Trade Compliance activities, and ensure compliance with both Canadian and US accounting best practices. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will also provide oversight of the Human Resources and IT functions.
PERKS: Our client offers a competitive salary, bonus, and benefits package. A remote (WFH) model is currently in place but will transition to hybrid (2-3 days on site) in the future.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Head financial planning, budget schedule, and all accounting operations (including both Canadian and US reporting).
- Analyze divisional financial results and provide reports to HQ with recommendations for the executive team to improve profitability KPIs.
- Supervise internal IT group and provide oversight for Human Resources group.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP, ASC, FAR, CAS, and SOX.
- Oversee Trade Compliance activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- 10 years' managerial accounting and financial management experience
- CPA designation
- Thorough knowledge of financial and legal best practices; proven ability to provide sound and ethical financial counsel
- Strong time management and problem solving skills with a passion for process improvements
- Bilingual in French and English
Education and Certifications
Minimum education required: University Degree
