Finance Manager

Job Description

Our client, an assisted living facility, is looking for a Finance Manager to join their team for a 3-Month contract! The ideal candidate will have experience with the preparation of annual operating
budgets, management of year end audit process, the development and review of facility policies
and procedures, information technology services and other related functions.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assists in the process of developing short term and long term planning for the Finance function; provides input on priorities and associated budget requirements.
• Manages all aspects of the finance and accounting functions and related activities; ensures efficient and effective delivery of all services.
• Manages compliance and delivery of services related to the service purchase agreements and financial services contracts.
• Assists in the preparation of annual operating budgets.
• Analyzes monthly financial reports; ensures distribution of monthly financial statements to management of all service areas and discusses variances with Managers and/or Supervisors.
• Prepares monthly financial statements, including required journal entries, and updates working papers/schedules.
• In conjunction with Payroll, reconciles annual T4, T4A and WCB working papers.
• Prepares year-end working papers, analysis reports, and assists external auditors.
• Ensures payments are processed for all government remittances (payroll deductions, GST, RST, etc.) and submitted as per required due dates.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a health care environment;
• Previous supervisory experience with sound leadership practices;
• High comfort level with technology and solid working knowledge of Excel, Dynamics Great Plains and Report Designer;

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: University Degree or College Diploma
