Transport and Logistics Manager - Permanent

Job Description

We are actively recruiting for a Transport and Logistics Manager/Director to work within a fast paced and dynamic environment with our well established client. This is a permanent opportunity with a competitive compensation package.

The successful candidate will lead all activities related to freight and asset management nationally and foster excellent relationships with vendors and clients.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Work with leaders and teams across and within lines of business
• Supervise department activities and initiatives, measuring against targets.
• Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of strategies
• Provide leadership and direction to staff, helping them to fully maximize their resources
• Responsible for strategically and efficiently planning and managing logistics and transportation operations in order to provide reliable and consistent service for internal customers and outside the company.
• Responsible for analyzing and monitoring, using performance indicators, the efficiency of the services under the supervision in order to maintain a high level of performance and reliability.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of North America and international transport (road, rail, and sea)
• Bachelor's degree in operations, logistics, industrial engineering (or other combination of education and/or relevant experience).
• Bilingualism (English-French spoken and written)
• Good command of the Office suite (+ specifically Excel)
• Have a high level of leadership and problem solving.
• Have experience in managing employees.

Minimum education required: Bachelor's Degree
