Job Description

Our client in the real estate industry is looking to bring on a Senior Accountant to their team for a full-time permanent opportunity. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of full cycle accounting experience within a large organization/corporation. This role offers a great total compensation package including annual bonus, annual wellness allowance, matching RRSP contribution and more! Our client also promotes an in office culture, therefor the role does require candidates to work on-site 100%. This is a great opportunity that will provide glowing experience on any resume.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and completion of the monthly financial statements, board related packages and metrics/KPI’s
  • Prepare and analyze reports with respect to budgets, revenues, expenses and budget allocation
  • Drive preparation of cash flow and profit forecasts for the business
  • Preparing bank, balance sheet and GL account reconciliations
  • Complete all required weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and regulatory filings
  • Prepare monthly reports for senior management and supporting variances
  • Responsible for all month-end and year-end closing activities and working with internal and external auditors on year end audits
  • Make recommendations to improve the efficiency of the department, internal controls and other areas
  • Prepaid, accrual and fixed asset schedules
  • Suggest process improvements and implement new and improved processes

Qualifications and Experience
Must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in full cycle accounting
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Designated (CPA) or near completion
  • Strong proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas) and spreadsheets
  • Organized, detail oriented and ability to meet deadlines in a high volume capacity
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively
Nice to have:

  • Experience in real estate is a huge asset

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: College Diploma
