Job Description

Altis Recruitment is seeking a Project Manager on behalf of our bilingual client in the Ottawa/Gatineau area. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Read the plans and specifications and keep them up to date according to changes during the project;
  • Prepare and monitor calls for tenders for subcontracting lots;
  • Benchmark the awards received and submit the results to the project manager;
  • Participate in contract negotiations with the project manager;
  • Work with the Project Manager and Superintendent to establish project timelines;
  • Update the schedule throughout the project;
  • Coordinate the obtaining of permits and authorizations required for the execution of the work;
  • Follow up on technical issues related to plans and specifications;
  • Coordinate payment requests to the customer and those of subcontractors;
  • Manage the review of workshop drawings and samples;
  • Participate in the follow-up of "Conflict Detections";
  • Organize and take minutes of site meetings with subcontractors, professionals and the client;
  • Coordinate with the project manager client's changes and subcontractors' change requests;
  • Monitor and manage deficiencies at the end of the project;
  • Assemble end-of-project documents;
  • Coordinate work and materials in collaboration with the Superintendent and Project Manager;
  • Monitor the project's quality program;
  • Coordinate the preliminary inspection of the work in collaboration with the Superintendent;

Qualifications and Experience
  • Strong management, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and leadership;
  • Be organized, structured and rigorous;
  • Have a good sense of priorities;
  • Have a spirit of analysis and synthesis;
  • Being a good team player.
Must have:

  • Hold a BACHELOR's degree in civil or construction engineering and/or a DEC in architectural technology or civil engineering;
  • Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (an asset);
  • Possess a minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Be bilingual in French and English;
  • Computer knowledge: MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: Bachelor's Degree
