Job Description

Our client within the CPG industry is seeking to bring on an HR lead to their organization. Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for both operational HR functions and strategic initiatives.

This role will be primarily remote with some on site presence required (approx 2-4 times per month) in Mississauga, ON. The role offers a base salary plus bonus, vacation, medical, dental, vision, life insurance and the opportunity to be influential to business process improvements and build out HR further.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide HR support to various offices in North America
  • Develop HR programs, policies & procedures in alignment with organizational goals
  • Ensure policies & procedures are in compliance with legislation
  • Review compensation and benefits
  • Implement & monitor a performance management system
  • Oversee employee complaints, grievances and disputes
  • Administer employee discipline processes
  • Manage terminations and conduct exit interviews
  • Coordinate Health and Safety programs
  • Support audit objectives and controls
  • Training and development for employees and leaders
  • Remain current with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR
  • Oversee the payroll specialist and act as a backup for payroll & benefits when required
  • Assist with due diligence and integration of existing locations and new acquisitions
  • Create company social activities and functions


Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum 8-10+ years of Human Resources experience
  • MUST have manufacturing or logistics industry experience
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Previous HR experience in a multi-location organization
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organization
  • Polished presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with written and e-mail correspondence
  • Ability to make decisions independently and build team consensus
  • Must be highly organized with strong time management skills
Nice to have:

  • CHRP/CHRL designation considered an asset
  • Proficiency with Ceridian Dayforce preferred
