Job Description

Our client, a global leader in IT Software Solutions, is currently seeking a Business Development Director in their Transportation/Logistics sector to sell their full suite of services and solutions (including Custom Application Development, Engineering & Testing Services, Infrastructure Solutions, Business Consulting Services, etc). This role is pure hunting into new accounts within the Transportation/Logistics Industry for the organization in Canada. The Business Development Director will work with a Client Partner and team that will support all Sales pursuits.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Pursue major accounts within the Transportation/Logistics Industry
  • Drive growth through hunting new opportunities and new logos
  • Act as the account lead on assigned accounts, setting the sales strategy and taking overall responsibility for developing and nurturing the client relationship
  • Must have a working knowledge of global delivery model and should have closed large deals in hunting new business
  • Cultivate, generate & grow large scale relationships for new accounts in the Transportation/Logistics industry segments
  • Identifying prospective clients & create the go to market plan for the identified territory & industry vertical
  • Generating business from new accounts and have the capability to drive and lead customer relationships into multimillion dollar engagements
  • Enhancing business from existing accounts, achieving consistent contribution and collection norms
  • Building credibility and gaining market share in the territory and able to manage objection well and make their way in for new areas of growth with our customers
  • Understanding of technology and vertical platforms in order to strategize & craft solutions (along with pre sales teams) to match customer needs


Qualifications and Experience
  • 7+ years of relevant business development experience selling IT services to Fortune 500 customers in the domain industry in Canada
  • Minimum 10+ years experience selling IT Services – Applications Development and Maintenance, Business Process Outsourcing, Infrastructure, and Information Technology Outsourcing, etc.
  • Experience of pursuing and closing large deals & must have demonstrated ability and maturity to sell and build relationships with C Level executives
  • Demonstrated consecutive quarterly and yearly quota achievement in complex selling environments utilizing a solution selling model
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter individual who understands the vision & goal of the organization and strives to achieve the same
  • Ensuring high customer satisfaction by working closely with the project teams and achieving committed service quality
