Job Description

Our IT outsourcing client is looking for a Level 2 Technician to join their team on a permanent basis. The role will be hybrid - onsite and remote at the Brampton location with some travel required to client sites.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform level 2 tech support at the desktop level which includes installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and application
  • Installation of Server Hardware and Network Operating Systems like Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2016 and 2019.
  • Managing backups using Datto. Spinning up VMs in Datto in case of Disaster Recovery.
  • Managing and providing support to escalations.
  • Setting up user accounts, regular mailboxes, shared mailboxes, online protection in Office 365.
  • Performed email Migration from on premise servers to Office 365.
  • Setting up Network Printers through Print Servers and setting up its advances functionality like AD integration, Scan to folder and Scan to email tasks.
  • Setting up Group policies, creating scripts to install Applications.
  • Knowledge of Documentation and Networking tools like ConnectWise Manage and Auvik.
  • Windows Patching through Solarwinds Ncentral.
  • Access industry resources including software updates, drivers, knowledge bases and FAQ resources to aid in tech support resolutions
  • Leverage front-line client experience to identify sales opportunities

Qualifications and Experience
  • Obtained industry certifications such as Cisco, Microsoft, and CompTIA
  • Experience with Remote Control Software such as LogMeIn and Remote Desktop Connection
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Gmail, and other emailing apps
  • Demonstrable experience with installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server 2003 / 2008 / 2012 / 2012 R2 including Active Directory
  • Installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting Linux
  • Demonstrable experience with networking concepts including TCP/IP, OSI model, routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, super subnetting and other networking concepts
  • Demonstrable experience with networking hardware including Cisco, SonicWALL, routers, Next Generation (NG) firewalls, switches and VPN appliances
  • Experience with an assortment back-up software including Acronis, Datto, WSB, etc.
  • Experience with building, mounting, breaking, hot spare, RAID 0/1/5/6/10
  • Experience with VoIP including FreePBX, Asterisk, Cisco UC, etc.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-V
  • Experience with cloud service platforms including as Private Cloud, Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience with installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting a wide range of desktop hardware and software (Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10) as well as Apple OS X
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite including 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016
  • Experience with troubleshooting printers, scanner and various other peripherals
  • Experience with troubleshooting and supporting mobile devices iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry
Must have:

  • MSP Experience a must.
  • Need Vehicle as there is some travel to and from customer sites
  • Good documentation skills with in ConnectWise (Ticketing System)

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: University Degree or College Diploma
