Our client in the not-for-profit sector in Toronto, is seeking multiple fundraising positions from Officer to the Director Level. Successful candidates will develop and implement strategies, plans, and materials for securing donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations. The ideal candidate will be a highly energetic professional that has experience in fundraising, sales, or business development.

Along with a competitive salary, our client is offering 4 weeks' vacation, benefits, and parking/transit reimbursement. While currently working remotely, our client will be transitioning to a combination of on-site and remote work in the future.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Help implement and drive fundraising programs with a particular focus on growing major and planned giving activities
  • Follow and utilize prospect identification, research, and qualification processes to generate a prospect pipeline that will expand and extend our major and planned giving success
  • Personally manage a portfolio of prospects
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects and donors, in partnership with other staff
  • Provide briefing documents and materials, including proposals, for donor meetings
  • Provide research profiles for prospects, including individuals, corporations, and foundations
  • Assist in the preparation of proposal and report submissions for Foundation funding
  • Coordinate the stewardship of assigned donors including thank you letters, phone calls, and mailings
  • Draft donor agreements for gifts of endowment or for specific projects where an agreement is warranted
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute events which raise awareness and support for the organization
  • Serve as an enthusiastic and well-informed spokesperson and ambassador for the organization

Qualifications and Experience
  • Self-starter who is motivated, decisive, and resourceful
  • Previous experience in corporate sponsorship and philanthropy would be an asset, as would experience in academic or science-focused organizations
  • Knowledge of prospect research methodology, and experience in developing a prospect pipeline for major and planned gifts is an asset
