Job Description

Our national public sector client seeks a Sr. Analytics Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. Hybrid/Remote work opportunity with competitive compensation package including benefits & pension offered. This individual will be a prime senior team player to assist with predictive analytics modeling.

Reporting office - downtown Ottawa, ON.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Manager, Advance Analyst, the Sr. Analyst in their role will be relied on for their design, development and evaluation of quantitative methodologies, models and solutions to support the team' operating planning.
  • Advanced Data analysis and modelling, data mining, machine learning, deep learning, and algorithms, natural language processing, artificial intelligence and other related disciplines using large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets from structured and unstructured sources.
  • Ability to recognize abstract patterns and relationships between apparently unrelated entities or situations.
  • Knowledge of data quality assurance principles and practices to identify data cleanliness issues (e.g., missing values, duplicate meanings, and invalid data).
  • Expert knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and analytical knowledge and skills to lead program/policy reviews and development.
  • Familiarity with social and economic indicators and databases; financial data; labour market data; children, community and social service utilization data; and population health data.
  • Knowledge of data management, financial and business analysis, database architecture, and information visualization.
  • Computer proficiency to access resources on unit's databases to conduct research and analysis and to retrieve and manipulate data from databases located on different platforms.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 3yrs in key software in this role not limited to: SAS, R, Python.
  • Completed degree with specialization in research, mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering or another data science path.
  • Able to clearly communicate what the analysis could impact to non-technical business audiences.
  • Able to comprehend the business needs and design the data analysis approach based on their request.
Must have:

  • Eligibility for Secret clearance (10 years address history in Canada)

    • As the client works across Canada, having some French proficiency would be an asset
