Job Description

Our NonProfit client is currently looking to staff a Training Officer role for a short term contract with strong possibility of an extension. This role will allow you to work Monday to Friday during normal business hours with some flexibility.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the Manager, Volunteer Mobilization and in collaboration with various internal and external subject matter experts and consultants, the Senior Training Officer, develops, coordinates and delivers volunteer training activities such as pre-departure training, group debriefings with returned volunteers, training for the organization country teams and partners receiving volunteers for all projects.
  • More specifically, the Senior Training Officer, is responsible for:
  • Training
  • Design, develop, organize, implement, adapt and evaluate training activities for volunteers participating in the Volunteer Cooperation Program and bilateral projects;
  • Lead the development and implementation of e-learning training course development for volunteers;
  • Coordinate with internal and external subject matter experts to develop and deliver training modules to volunteers (i.e. Technical Advisors, Public Engagement and Fundraising, Security, Consultants, etc);
  • Ensure volunteer training is engaging and relevant and meets the needs of the learners and of the projects;
  • Ensure the Gender Equality approach is integrated within volunteer training activities;
  • Stay current with best practices in volunteer training, adult learning, group facilitation and online learning;
  • Provide relevant feedback observed during volunteer training to the Volunteer Mobilization team on volunteers as part of the continuing assessment process for volunteers;
  • Conduct individual volunteer debriefings as requested;
  • Other related duties might be assign to you from time to time

Qualifications and Experience
Must have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in coordination, management, organization and development of training activities for different audiences, in-person and online;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Nice to have:

  • University degree in adult education, pedagogy, international development, social sciences or a related field;
  • Active supporter of Gender Equality and values associated with volunteering for development;
