Job Description

Our global Investment Management client is seeking a seasoned Data Management Analyst to join their Toronto-based team.

Serving as the first point of contact for business partners, the successful candidate will calculate and verify net investable cash in multiple currencies, resolve discrepancies within strict deadlines, conduct analysis of new instruments, and support new fund launches. This position also includes ownership of complex escalated position, cash, coupon payment, and security master related reconciliation breaks.

This is a 1-year contract position. Operations are currently 100% remote/work-from-home, but will be transitioning to a hybrid model in 2022.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily cash and claims, and support reconciliation and audit processes.
  • Calculate and verify current day and net investable cash in multiple currencies for portfolio managers.
  • Analyze and assess new instruments to determine associated data requirements and support procedures.
  • Support end-to-end data testing for new instruments.
  • Contribute to new data requests and data standards change requests.
  • Serve as the escalation point for critical reconciliation breaks.
  • Assist with production of management reports and executive level commentaries.
  • Engage in process improvements and workflow streamlining.
  • Conduct operational and control reviews to ensure integrity of documentation evidence.
  • Train and support global teams.

Qualifications and Experience
  • 3+ years' financial services industry experience in a data analysis capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of complex investment products and industry processes, including financial instruments, investment strategies, fund of fund process, cash management process, Canadian lapping, and industry regulatory changes.
  • Proficiency with market data services, such as Bloomberg and Reuters, along with data management applications (CADIS, Eagle PACE), order management systems, portfolio administration applications, fund accounting applications, reconciliation tools, and data warehouse platforms.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end investment services processes.
  • Ability to process and assimilate data and information into meaningful insights.

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: University Degree or College Diploma
