The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3+ years’ experience in payroll and benefits administration, and payroll analysis, pursuing or completed PCP certification. You will have advanced excel skills and experience in financial or payroll analysis and reporting.

This is a hands-on payroll/analysis role, working with a group of motivated and professional accounting team. The role can be performed from anywhere in Canada, we are in the EST zone.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Primary Duties
  • Responsible for the commission payroll process including reconciling and preparing commission files for staff payroll. (This includes reconciling perm revenue, sales, and invoices)
  • Responsible for reporting and analysis on consultants' sales and contribution results, earnings, and commissions.
  • Responsible for process documents on commission process, commission ownership structures for sales consultants and business units.
  • Responsible for building presentations in Canva or PowerPoint
  • Responsible for meeting with staff members regarding compensation questions and working through the compensation mailbox.
  • Responsible for preparing Source Deduction payment
  • Responsible for reconciling Source Deduction accounts.
  • Stay up to date on any Legislative Canadian payroll changes and provide training and communication on these payroll changes.
  • Ad hoc accounting, payroll and financial requests from the CFO & the Controller.
  • Backup Responsibility for internal Staff Payroll and Candidate Payroll Adjustments
  • Backup to processing staff payroll for 200+ staff members
  • Backup to Benefits administration for our internal staff
  • Backup onboarding new staff members, this includes providing candidate payroll training to the sales team and identifying opportunities for training for order setup around payroll process.
  • Backup to offboarding and preparing and issuing Staff ROEs
  • Backup to preparing staff confirmation of earnings


Qualifications and Experience
  • 2-3+ years of hands on payroll and benefits administration
  • Post-secondary education
  • Pursing PCP.
  • Understanding ESA and how it impacts payroll
  • Advanced skills in MS Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to problem solve in excel and build upon excel models
  • Ability to take initiative when needed
  • Must have a positive, go-getter attitude!
  • Must have excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to problem solve and provide solutions. Must be solutions oriented
  • Experience in a private sector environment.
  • Exposure to building reports in power BI. Not a necessity, an asset.
  • Education and Certifications
  • Minimum education required: Post-secondary education
  • Preferred field of study: Accounting & Payroll
