Job Description

Our client is the prime Technical Asset Disposition & Recycling processor in Canada. We are seeking an experienced Director, Business Development – Recycling to join our client’s firm. Under the direction of the VP, Business Development, The Director, Business Development will handle all facets of account development, including seeking future opportunities, strategic expansion of prospects, and meeting and closing of orders. This role will also be responsible for guaranteeing that all client requirements are precisely communicated across the organization to warrant successful execution.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Strategize using competitor information, market conditions, customer requirements and organizational core capabilities to claim company success
  • Create business partnerships in a way that is ethical, competitive, and true to the company mission
  • Identify new prospects based on market research and district legislative programs
  • Create, qualify, chase, and win new business
  • Directly accountable for growing divisional service revenue
  • Develop and endorse short term and long-term strategic sales plans and revenue targets to ensure the completion of the company’s business plan goals
  • Through daily actions, translate the division’s operational plan and revenue targets to ensure the fulfilments of the company’s business plan an objective
  • With everyday activities translate the divisions business plan goals into sales growth
  • Provide advice to create the creation of dynamic sales strategies for the short- and long-range success of the business
  • Work collaboratively with all sales team members to successfully onboard new clients to a professionally managed portfolio of accounts
  • Implement the business plan to create needs for the company’s service solutions both for existing clients and new business
  • Comprehend competitor business models, study and identify areas of strength while analyzing weaknesses
  • Establish business partnerships by building trust
  • Participate in sales meetings as part of the business development team and report on all active pursuits, victories, losses and upcoming deals

Qualifications and Experience
  • Post-secondary education in business administration or related field, preference given to individuals with an Advanced Degree in Business or Marketing
  • 5+ years’ experience in industrial and/or recycling industries is an asset
  • Knowledge of Electronics and Technology ideal
  • Solid communications skills
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365
  • Broad understanding of Computer components and IT gear
  • Experience working within a CRM system and driving a CRM-based sales approach

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: College Diploma
