Job Description

Our client in Victoria is seeking a Project Manager to join their team on a contract until March 31st, 2022. There is a high likelihood that this contract will be extended. The ideal candidate will have experience building projects from the ground up, be comfortable visiting potential site locations, be in charge of accessing permits, and seeing the entire project through from start to finish.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Providing overall project coordination and management services: facilitating preparation and coordination of project plan; estimates and budgets for the project, including conceptual design and construction services, furniture, fixtures and equipment, and related materials;
  • Ensures tender documents are correctly filed and distributed.
  • Creating and maintaining overall capital project plan, including regular financial reports and project status reports to Executives; budget tracking shall include design and construction budget, as well as expenditures for furniture, fixtures and equipment.
  • Assisting selected service provider, as may be required, to ensure project is operationally and financially feasible and addresses all municipal and licensing requirements.
  • Identifying, monitoring and fulfilling all relevant regulations, policy, capital funding guidelines, as well as municipal development, building or occupancy permits;
  • Facilitating overall project progress through final inspections and occupancy, providing advice and support to the Executive team in order to identify and resolve project issues as they arise;
  • Plans and schedules project timelines, while tracking deliverables using appropriate tools;
  • Research support: undertakes project related research in order to prepare comprehensive and high quality briefing information on a range of matters in the form of reports, background papers, presentations, and draft correspondence.
  • Serving as liaison between the Executives and all external partners and regulators, including property owner, general contractor(s), space and design planner, provincial, municipal and licensing officials, service provider and others;
  • Constantly monitors and reports on progress of the project to all stakeholders;
  • Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a clear and timely fashion;

  • Ability to communicate professionally with vendors

  • PMP certification
