Job Description

Our client is seeking a Financial Analyst and NetSuite Administrator to join their dynamic finance and accounting team of 8. This position will start as a remote opportunity and will eventually return to office as a hybrid role. Our client offers an excellent total compensation package. Hours of work are 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
Location is in the heart of the downtown core of Toronto.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and monthly variance reports
  • Complete monthly analysis of financial reports, facilitate understanding of financial data for budget holders and fundraising
  • Analyze all financial reports from grantees to ensure compliance to grant contracts
  • Perform various budget or business performance analyses, investigate variances, produce ad hoc and period-end reports, and commentary to support management decision making
  • Assist the Finance team in preparing monthly journal entries including system generated templates to upload data directly into the system
  • Ensure correct allocation of costs
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Conducting user training
  • Providing and updating process documentation to system users
  • Act as a System Administrator who can add or remove users, open new grants and GL account and customize a report in the system using system data
  • Liaison between the organization and the external consultant
  • Oversee the implementation process of system fix including user acceptance testing and documentation of all persistent problems
  • Audit: Assist in the preparation of documentation and analysis of financial statements and lead sheets to ensure a smooth annual audit
  • Policy, Procedure, Analysis Design: Support the setting up and maintaining of Finance and Accounting policies, providing recommendations on how to streamline Finance and operations processes
  • Assist in the process improvement for design and enhancement of budgeting and forecasting tools and modelling

Qualifications and Experience
Must have:

  • 3 years of experience in a Financial Analyst role
  • Intermediate to advance experience using NetSuite
  • CPA designation or in final stages of completed the PEP program
  • Advanced MS Excel skills

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: Bachelor's Degree
