Job Description

One our our top financial services clients located in Toronto is currently looking for a Customer (Member) Services Specialist to join their growing team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent permanent with 10-20% bonus paid out bi-annually, 3 weeks vacation + 6 wellness days, 100% employer contributed medical/dental benefits and a defined benefit pension plan.

This role will be remote to start with potential of returning to the office located by Union station in Downtown Toronto on a part-time basis in 2022/2023. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and can work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide relevant, prompt and accurate information in a professional manner
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with members by managing requests
  • Consult with internal business partners about sensitive and complex issues
  • Maintain accurate rates and conduct quality verification as defined in department standards


Qualifications and Experience
  • •2+ years related service experience in the pension, insurance, or financial services industry in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Work experience in a service oriented environment
  • Ability to interact with peers and plan participants
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building skills
  • Ability to remain poised, patient, empathetic, tactful and composed
  • Excellent time management skills: ability to plan, and prioritize workload as well as adaptability to a changing multi-tasked environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Bilingual (French) an asset
  • Completion of Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC) and Certified Employee Benefit Specialist Program (CEBS) are considered an asset
