Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepares and maintains the construction site schedule for all on-site staff;
  • Supervises, trains and provides direction on all work performed on-site by trade partners, laborers, clerks and foreman;
  • Maintains daily log (written) of activities on the jobsite;
  • Provides weekly updates and meetings on project status to all staff;
  • Negotiates with contracting companies in order to get supplies, equipment and additional personnel to meet construction schedule;
  • Ensures that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with their contracted scope of work including correcting all deficiencies;
  • Orders construction material from suppliers i.e. steel, windows;
  • Reviews and revises architectural changes and customer extras on drawings and plans;
  • Inspects the work site continuously to ensure all staff and trades partners abide by Ministry of Ontario Labor regulations;
  • Coordinates required inspections with local jurisdictions;
  • Attends all joint health and safety committee meetings;
  • Ensures that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner;
  • Identifies conflicts in construction progress and communicates them to project team for resolution;

Qualifications and Experience
  • Post-Secondary education, either University degree or College Diploma.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
  • A strong core value, understanding and approach to safety with a proven safety record.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage job-site crews.
  • Ability to manage project schedule and resources to meet project expectations and timelines.
Must have:

  • 7-10+ years of experience in in the Construction Industry

    • 2-3 years of experience as a foreman

Education and Certifications

Minimum education required: University Degree or College Diploma
